Keep The Headstock Stripes Or Not?

Recommended Posts

I'm building a Mahogany Explorer with this maple, purpleheart neck.Still not done yet.

I decided to try the headstock ears with the purpleheart and maple continuing the stripes.I don't know what to do.Should I get rid of the outside stripes and just go with maple or do they look alright the way they are?

It's gonna be a 1 pickup explorer(EMG 81)with a Brazillian rosewood,walnut,red mahogany stain pattern.

That neck is a 23 fret neck.Reason?I only had 1 board that was damaged,so I cut off the last fret.Hey,it's 1 more than the standard 22 :D
