Complete Newbie Needs Help W/ Strat Project!

hey everyone,

i'm new here, just found this forum and love it. here's my problem. i've decided that i'm going to putting together my own sorta "frankencaster" I'm going to be buying fender strat parts of ebay, and putting it all together. i don't have the tools or the time to be creating one from scratch, but i do want to be able to buy all the parts separelty, so i can have some fun and put it together.

here's the problem:

im going to buy a sunburst american strat body with the swimming pool route, and i want to have texas special pickups in it. now the thing is, i have no idea how to wire everything. i mean i've read all the things out there, on reading diagrams and everything and all that stuff, but i still am so lost and confused as to what i'm supposed to do. i'm supposed to solder some stuff or ground something, or, hell i have no idea what i'm talking about. exactly how hard will it be to just take a body that has nothing but the holes for everything, and install pickups, switch, output jack and all that stuff? i have read about pots and caps and all that stuff but i have no idea how the hell all this stuff will be wired together. is there anything out there with pictures or detailed instructions on how i can do something like this?

basically it'll be a body with just the slots, and i'll be having to put in the pickups and all the electrics, knobs, switches, jacks, stuff like that.

if anyone can help, i'd really appreciate it. thanks.

Go to this website and order this kit:

Carvin Bolt Kit

This kit comes with everything you need to make the guitar you want. The electronics are prewired, so there's no way you can screw them up. If you have a little coin, they will even finish the body how ever you want it, even the sunburst. Later on, after you've assembled the guitar and verify everything else is perfect, then you can purchase a set of Texas Specials and wire them up to the same solder points as the Carvin pickups.

The kit costs $349.99 plus $19 for shipping. I would be really surprised if you can find the same components on fleabay for the same price w/shipping. Also, when you're new at this, trying to get all the components you need at once is kind of tough, too.
