MikeB
im torn, depends on what guitar, eg RRV has to be HH, ibanez can be HSH, HH. strat is SSS or HSS - but i like hum cancelling neck pups, so HSC, lol! this hasnt helped i suppose HSH. whisky182
well, it's not really any shape any one's ever seen before, it's totally original so this is like... market reaserch basicly to see the guitarist's view. zephyr7
No humbucker - humbucker - humbucker?
whisky182
nope, i'm trying to limit my expences, 3 humbuckers would cost about £150, way more then i wanna pay!
zephyr7
I have a guitar with H-S-H. I noticed I really seldom use the single coil, or any humbucker+singlecoil combo as in the switch positions 2, 3, 4. I usually play either the neck pickup (mostly) or the bridge. Personally I'd go for H-H like Joe Satriani. But that's just me. Whatever configuration you choose, if in the end you use crappy pickups, you wouldn't get much out of it, would ya? whisky182
i'm not planning on using crappy pickups, i've got a limit of about £100 so i think i can buy some pretty decent ones for that price, it looks like i'll be dishing out about £50 a humbucker
