Kevan
I'm looking to buy several Schaller Sure Claw units. New or old, condition is unimportant (but I'll pay more for new ones...heh heh). Email: kevan@jemfest.com Include asking price and condition. Pics are ok too. Thanks. wyldbil
I am looking for a Sure Claw as well. Actually, I could use a couple. Those things are a Floyd user's best friend IMHO. As long as they are operable, condition is unimportant here as well. In fact, prefer used due to T-I-G-H-T budget... Help? Anyone? Kevan
Actually, the Tremol-No is a Floyd users best friend. I'm working on a connection to a bunch of new ones. I'll keep you updated. They should be at "blow out" prices too, since no one in the US is carrying them any more.
Mike Doyle
Ive got a new one for sale. I would love to sell it complete with my new Floyd Rose Pro in Chrome, but can let it go seperately!
Kevan
Sorry folks- my source just crapped out. I thought they were sending me a SureClaw. Instead, I got something kinda like an Ibanez Backstop, apparently made by Schaller. If I do find a source here in the US, I'll let ya know. AllParts has offered to get them on a special order basis with about an eight week turnaround. I may end up taking that deal. If we do it, shall I work out maybe a group order with you? wyldbil
Just heard back from AllParts. I knew their prices to be usurious, but JEEBUS! They want $35 a pop to SPO Sure Claws. I only paid StewMac $22, but they carry them no longer. Kevan- think we can do better?
Guest AlexVDL
Kevan, I'll trade you my new Schaller Sureclaw for a Tremolno I've got a new one here in box if you're interested
Kevan
Damn. $35 ea? That's a bit rough. That's kinda why I posted. I figured there were a few folks that had bought them prior to the 'embargo', but never installed them, and would now like to part with them for a $20 or so. I'll check in with AllParts and see what I can do. Alex- How about the SureClaw + cash? Tremol-No's cost me about $950 ea. right now....so that'd be...$915, minus shipping. Sound good? LOL
wyldbil
Embargo?!?!?! Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Willis? Is there more to the new rarity of these than I know?
Kevan
Yeah...it's called Supply vs. Demand. There's zero demand for SureClaws right now, so....why should a shop carry 200 of them? :-) I spoke with AllParts today. It seems $35 is the best price they can do on special order SureClaws now. With the US dollar sucking wind, prices on overseas parts sucks. The other problem is delivery. No one knows if Schaller can have them delivered by July 4th weekend, or by X-mas. It's anyone's guess. With all that, I'll still keep an eye out for the NOS ones that folks have, or the pre-owned ones. Slighty cheaper, and quicker delivery. It'd be a shame if they became extinct; it's a fairly cool design. I'd be cool to incorporate the Tremol-No into it, maybe.....one day....down the road somewhere. :-)
wyldbil
Kevan- These folks seem to have them: http://www.touchstonetonewoods.co.uk/ttwp42.html I just wrote to see if they might do you and me a bulk order for them. (fingers crossed) 35 bucks... HUMPH!
Kevan
Cool. Too bad they're in the UK. Let me know what they have in stock. Maybe I'll order one or two with ya. BTW- I think I forgot to email Scott and let him know that the unit arrived and is now in a new home. THANKS SCOTT!
Scott Rosenberger
Glad to hear you're enjoying it, however my Tremol-no seems to have been lost in the mail
wyldbil
kevan- Talked to Schaller directly. I don't know the conversion rate, but they will sell them direct at 9.86euros each. The catch? Minimum purchase 100. If anyone wants to set up a group purchase, PLEASE let me know!
