erikbojerik
I just got my latest StewMac catalog and saw these for the first time ("new to you" as they say...). Anyone tried these? Care to post a review?
Daniel Sorbera
I have them on my project guitar. They work fine. The "feel" is really smooth as claimed. A plus of the design is they dont have to follow the curve of the headstock. The only problem is the look. But if you like the way they look than I would say go for it. erikbojerik
What do you suppose is the largest string diameter that they will handle? Large enough for a 7 (0.058)?
GregP
I quite like these. I'll definitely use them in a future project if I ever get motivated enough to HAVE future projects. They're a lot like those other ones (name escapes me), but much more attractive. The other ones looked 'wrong' tacked on the top of a headstock. I'm surprised if they're stocking new Steinberger parts that they don't have the Steinberger trems and headless systems available, though. thedoctor
Those other ones are LSRs and I like them. .058 is about all they will take. You can play around with the mounting angles a little but they still look kinda "mech-tech" and clunky. They are standard on my neckthrough 7-strings. darren wilson
I emailed StewMac and their response was that they'll accommodate up to a .060" string, which should make their use on a 7-string possible! My brain is churning with some unique ideas already.
