erikbojerik
I have a killer concept done for a one-off solidbody, but the top wood is required to be flamed brazilian rosewood; needs to be at least 3/8" thick and 14" x 20" (or two 7x20 slabs). Seriously...if you can lay hands on it, I have the means to pay what its worth.
Scott Rosenberger
There's some available very near to you at a Hardwoods Supplier It's gonna cost you around 600 to 800 bucks for Figured Brazilian Rosewood. I doubt you'll find any with good Flame figure. You be better served to hunt for some Flatsawn Wenge and fill the Grain with Black Epoxy
erikbojerik
Epoxy-filled wenge...hmmm, that's an interesting idea. I can also get Bolivian RW, Honduran RW and cocobolo, all variously similar to Brazilian. But I caught a glimpse of a tiny billet of true flamed BRW this morning, and now I'm just a basket case. Maybe I'll get over it...
Daniel Sorbera
Right now I'm building two guitars out of wenge and I think it would look killer flat sawn and filled with epoxy. Both my blanks are perfectly quartersawn but I saw some in the store and it looks freakin awesome flatsawn. The only thing is wenge is REALLY hard to rout. It wants to tear out like crazy. I went in like a millimeter at a time to avoid tearing out.
Devon Headen
Maybe I'll get over it... ← Probably. Give it two weeks while thinking about other stuff before you make any impulse purchases. If you still want to pay out the nose for BR, it's up to you. Chances are that you'll have moved on in two weeks, though.
erikbojerik
I won't break the bank for "regular" BR....but the flamed stuff....man....I didn't even know there was such a thing as flamed rosewood (of any kind, let alone BR). Now I'm totally off the deep end...I can't concentrate at work...can't eat...relationships are suffering...personal hygiene has gone to hell....don't know if I'll make it... Devon Headen
You could buy this to fuel your desires http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8181761826&rd=1 I'd never seen any figured BR, either, but now I see where you're coming from. mledbetter
That's cool looking.. Probably about the right size for a bridge billet maybe? Or maybe the cut doesn't work. I have no idea. Beautiful wood though.
