To Scale Or Not To Scale

Recommended Posts

When we look at guitar with 25.5 scale lengths we notice that they is more room for pick-ups from the end of the fret board to the bridge. and thus with guitars of 24. 3/4 length there is less room to play around. I was wondering if i had a scale length of 24 3/4 if i installed 3 pickups would i get the equal versatility if they were on a 25.5 scale guitar.

it also has to do with the number of frets. 24 frets wil yield less room than 22 for example. You will be able to get away with 3 pickups with either scale depending on the number of frets.
