Replacing a Nut

Recommended Posts

hey,

I'm working on this old warlock, and i want to remove the nut it has which is just the standard kind like on telecasters, and replace it with a locking nut as I am installing a floyd rose tremolo on it. Any suggestions on how to remove the old nut?

All help is appreciated :D

If you have a very thin blade or small flat screw driver usually they can be lifted by sticking under the end and working your way across from underneath. I've also read directions where you take a block of wood and place it against the edge and whck it with a hammer to tap it out but for me that lead to a little wood work later because the back ridge of the wood broke away as well :D , lucky for me it was an easy fix and dissapeared under the finish B)
