GuitarGuy
Build Your Own Electric Guitar: Custom Guitar Assembly Made Easy By Bill Foley ISBN: 0961836105 Dont bother with that one. Any info in that is covered in Hiscock's and there are some terrible editing mistakes in it. (example: the tele wiring schematic is totally wrong) Another good read you missed was Guitar Electonics for Musicians by Donald Brosnac. It has a ton of schematics for whatever guitar you can think of. Also pickup winding info and efects as well. rocksolid
Electric Guitar Construction Do you own that book sepultura? I'm curious about what you think of it, I own it and have mixed feelings about it. Edited July 14, 2005 by rocksolid
sepultura999
No I do not own it. The local library may have a copy, and I am currently in the process for my first build, so I may pick it up. I do think the guitar in the cover is ugly though. rocksolid
If you follow the techniques in the book you should do fine, thats the good part of the book. However the book does not cover scarf joints, semi-hollow bodies, guitars with tremelos, inlay and things like this. Also there are some typos throughout the book. It's not ALL terrible but there are better books out there, try and find one thats a more complete resource.
Cracked
Has anyone bought this e-book from Donahue? http://www.noahjames.com/vintagepage/ebook.html Looks to be pretty cool, not a bad price too.
X1TX
Out of all these references, is there any one standout "Must Have" book?
Mattia
The Hiscock, 'Make Your Own Electric Guitar'. Some also reccomend the Koch, but I'd say get that as well, but get the Hiscock first.
