Subvamp
Does anyone know the process for doing one of those big time sparkly finishes? Not just metal flake, but the big sparkly finishes, like on the Danelectros? Thanks! Tony
Scott Rosenberger
I haven't seen a picture, but those types of finishes are done a couple of ways, 1. the flake is sprayed first then the transparent color coat then the clear 2. the flakes are mixed with the color coat sprayed then cleared 3. Base color, then the flakes are mixed with the first coat of clear, then plain clear over that
Subvamp
I figured it was probably a 2 or 3 part process. Any idea how to get that type of flake paint?

LGM Guitars
also note that if you are going to spray a really heavy metal flake, you need a spray gun with a LARGE tip opening, I would say probably at LEAST 1.8mm to get a nice even smooth job.
