I've got an Ibanez S470 with cosmo black finish, and I'm looking for the best way to restore the original look, affected somehow by sweat, dust etc. Any ideas? Thank you very much! LGM Guitars Posted July 31, 2003 Report Share Posted July 31, 2003 Get new pickup rings from Ibanez. Really, I haven't found any method to accurately refinish the cosmo plating. I've had platers try their smoked chrome or black chrome, but I haven't found anyone around here that can do it well. New pickup rings will probably cost you less from Ibanez than trying to find something that will look close.
