possum1284
hi the neck pocket on my guitsr is really rough and uneven. i was thinking of repairing it by cutting a piece out of a new piece of wood then glueing it to the body which woul be cut so that it matched the piece. see the following illustrationneck fix then id use a neck plate to further secure the joined pieces of wood. the parts colored red are the new piece of wood id cut. the non colored parts are the original body. thanks, Adam
Lietuvis
Is only the pocket itself uneven, or is the neck also uneven? If the neck bottom is perfectly flat, then evening out the pocket would be a good idea. However, if the uneveness of the neck matches the uneveness of the pocket, keep it how it is. Lietuvis
The more contact between the two pieces of wood, the better sustain, tone etc. By all means, do it!
