Neck Tenons

Recommended Posts

Nice gap in the fretboard binding channel too on that long-tenon shot.

I'm not sure these are Gibsons...haven't they been using "pancake" construction in their bodies since the 70s?

I have a 84 LPC burst and honestly the dye job is so thick on the sides I can't tell. I'd have to open the control cavity to check.

During the 70's, not since - semantics, but different :D

The Norlin era guitars used pancake construction and 3 piece tops too (even on some customs with clear finishes!) to save materials cost, but these practices went out a long while back. Now they just save on wood by making the tenon much smaller than the mortice :D :D B)
