possum1284 Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 hi do u leave the top of the wood flat or carve the whole thing into an arc? essentially on a carved top guitar is the very top flat or arched(where the pickups are monted)? im specifically interested in knowing this about prs guitars. adam Quote
Mattia Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 Don't know about PRS guitars, but on Les Pauls, that bit's slightly arched as well (pickup/bridge area). On my guitars, to date, it's been relatively flat, but carefully faired into the surrounding carve. Kinda necessary to keep the bridge area flat if you're using a trem, and you want the bit the studs go into to be pretty much level. Hit the store, and 'feel up' a PRS for yourself if you really want to know. Quote
