Deadat20
Hi everyone. This may have been asked before, but I cant seem to find a previous post. Ive cleaned a spot on my old japanese strat, sanded, primed, painted, and finished with a clear glaze. It looks great. However, the finish is not smooth to the touch.....meaning, when I run my fingers over it, they stick instead of glide. The paint isnt wet either. There just doesnt seem to be any flexibility. Its Hard to explain. I tried sanding over it, then refinishing....but to the same effect. Is there some material I can buff with to make it smoother/easier to handle? Thanks. SwedishLuthier
Some finishes are simply “stickier” than other. What is the finish you are using (Nitro, shellac, polyurethane etc)? That info might give us some clues.
