longblackhairguy
I'm building an electric 6-string, similar to a flying v, with a double locking bridge and two triple-coil pick-ups. however, in my calculations I found that i probably won't have enough space between the end of the fretboard and the bridge for the pickups. To solve this, either I could extend the scale-length (from25.5" to 26.5) or move the pickup up and have 2 or 4 less frets (from 24). for the latter i would also have to alter the shape to fit around the pickup. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks
SwedishLuthier
Or use ordinary humbuckers... Changeing scale length will alter the feel of the guitar, so using 22 frets seems to be the best solution.
