baggman Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Who has the simplest tube pre-amp plans for a bass amp. I want to build a hybrid bass amp for small gigs and recording. I guess something like an old Bassman, or Ampeg B-15 would do the trick. Thanks-baggman Quote

TenderSurrender Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 google has it, took me less time than it took you to write that post. And with all that time it took you to type that reply weezer, you could of at least given a link Dr tube, lots of schems for guitar and bass tube preamps Hope this helps baggman! Good luck with the build ~~ TS ~~ Quote
lovekraft Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 (edited) Try a JTM45/early JCM800 split channel preamp - if you'll compare the schematics in Dr Tube's Marshall section, it'll be obvious what you need to change for bass use. Keep in mind that those amps are just ever-so-slightly modified Tweed Bassmans, so you can't go far wrong. The B15 is great, too, but doesn't grind quite as hard. Both pretty simple to build, so pick yer poison. Edited February 10, 2006 by lovekraft Quote
