for electrics i keep graphtech (sp?) ready-mades in stock. for better acoustics i keep bone blanks and make them for the individual guitar. i like the graph tech because of the variety that are available and i can quickly fit one to nearly any neck. i like bone because it's fairly easy to work and gives a great tone.

For replacements I like the Graph Tech too. No muss, no fuss. As for glue, I just use a touch of Titebond at either end, let it set, and good to go.

EDIT: I like Tusq also. I use both, just forgot to mention it.

I prefer the look and sound of bleeched bone. But it really depends on the color scheme of the guitar. If it needs a black nut (or has a trem) I'll put a graphtech. And for glue (no matter what nut material i use) I'll just pur one tiny drop of CA in the very center.
