Brian
Anyone interested in buying part of a plank of Mahogany for their project can contact me here on the forum. I have found a supplier and I will be purchasing one from him thats 13' long. Course I only need 20" so there will be pleny left if anybody wants some. Your cost would be $20 plus shipping on an approximate 20"x13"x1" piece.

Are you going to top it with another 1/4" or so of maple for a guitar body?
Guest AlexVDL
You could build a nice SG style body with it
Brian
3/4" cap of quilted Maple for a Jem style body nobody ever has seem to build, you know the one. It is bookmatched and even the quilt run's through the trem cavity.............
DaveK
OOOOOOH! Sounds nice! I assume you will be showing us your progress on this project as you go along? A re-top huh?? How tough is it to do? Is it something you could share in a tutorial? Inquisitively yours, Dave K
Brian
Actually this will be a body from scratch. I'm planing on an AANJ with H-H configure and JPM style control panel but of course with the handle, output jack hole and trem cavity of a Jem style guitar. Probably a thin brown or orange burst with golden center over the quilted top. The only reason I'm doing the burst is to hide the depth of the cap which will be hugh since it has to be a minimum of 21/32" for the trem cavity to work. The neck will probably have a birdseye maple fret board with a teak and rosewood "Tree of Life" inlay......kinda ala natural light brown over tan.....
