Lord-of-the-strings
I was wondering if there was any way to build something similar to the Randall RM4 preamp chassis but for only one preamp unit, and then just include it into my fx loop into my combo amp. how would I go about doing this? anyone have a schematic of the Rm4? mammoth guitars
Randall now makes 3 different combo amps that take those modules. http://www.randallamplifiers.com/products/...s/mtscombos.asp You should be able to put something together. It should not be too difficult to figure out which connector pins need what signal. You would need a spec for the tube voltage they use. lovekraft
Why not just build a tube preamp (Matchless Hotbox, anyone?) for your F/X loop? There's no guarantee that those preamp modules are going to sound like anything without the RM4's support circuitry, and I see no way that you can build an RM4 sans power amp for less than you can buy one for (economics of scale, tooling, etc.). But that's just me...
