gnawblock Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I'm new here and looking for some input. I recently refinished an Ibanez RG450 with a fabric top. Originally i was going to do it in urban camo (black, white, grey) but the white browned out because of the wood underneath. My question is...can a white primer or something of the sort be used to keep the white fabric...white? The tutorial at this site says bare wood is best. I did the RG with an Egyption theme instead but i'd like to so my Ibanez S in urban camo. Suggestions? thanks gnawblock Quote
SwedishLuthier Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I have not tried this but shellac ought to keep the fabric white and not discoloured. Or do you mean that the dark woos can be seen through the white fabric? Then you should be able to fix this with a white clear coat under the fabric. Just make some tests to make sure that everything is compatible. Always make test runs... Quote
