Grady
Hey, I have decided to make a neck laminate with blue veneer sandwiched between rock maple. Good idea or bad idea? If it will work, is there any special advice or will it work in basically the same way as laminating hardwoods?

skibum5545
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I had a question on this topic. And I figured that one big thread was better than two small threads, so....(kudos to those who caught the reference). Anyway, I want to put black laminates between my neck laminates, and between my maple top and ash bottom of my body wings. Should I use plain black veneer, or do the strength/tone differences warrant the extra cost of carbon fiber sheet? If the carbon fiber is worth it, can it be worked just like the wood would have been, or are there special precautions I need to take, or differences in my working method? Setch
Black veneer will be just fine.
