Looking For A Tutorial On Staining Quilted Maple And Finishing It

Hello,

I'm looking for a tutorial on how to stain my quilted maple top. I'd like the dlack/sand colr method, but need specifics (when/how to seal/fill grain (?) top/back (mahogany). Also, what's the best way to put on a clear coat? I'm in real need of a tutorial or two.
