I was thinking of using on of these on my next project

My question is this. Does this type of bridge work better with particular scale lengths? or is it a case of one size fitting all?

Any light that you could shed on this will be greatly appreciated.

Don't get these bridges - Get the ones that have adjustable saddles like this: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailp...und_Bridge.html

I wouldn't want a guitar with a bridge that has no adjustments for intonation.

I have that exact bridge, the quality of the plating is rubbish. So bad I would've sent it back if I could've been bothered, but considering I bought it for my own guitar, I don't really care about that sort of stuff.

I would line the posts up perpendicular, and any further adjustment(if necessary) can be made with the tiny grub screws.

Those types of bridges are wonderful, but i dont know that specific one. They generally still have screws to set it, and once it is set (if set correctly) never needs adjustment.

Don't know that I'd fancy a bridge with screws sticking out of the back of it like that. :D

The screws can be cut so they don't stick out as much.

The pigtail bridge is really nice too, but I've never found one in black.
