sbskates Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 sorry to be redundent, my post topic origionally wasnt correct. i have made an sg body. its exactly same thickness lower mahognay and to flame maple. i did the build this way because i was planning on beveling all way around the top so it would have a nice maple edge . will this look good? Southpa Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 (edited) Hagstrom solid bodies resemble SG / strat hybrid. Horns are similar to SG but the upper is set more towards the headstock ala strat. The Hag body is bevelled around the entire perimeter, front AND back. Makes for a lightweight guitar. Some pics to give you the idea : http://www.hagstromusa.com/John/index.php3...sub_section=139 They've never made them with 2 tone wood like you propose but I think the bevelling all around would look nice on yours. GregP Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 OOoo... Hagstrom. Good idea! I've got a "Big Red Swede" myself, and the 2-sided beveling is very nice. Quote
