Xanthus
Yeah, I know this is probably a stupid question, but the active EMG's come with their own jacks. Problem is, I've got a flushmount jack, and therefore no jack plate for the EMG jack to screw into. Simple yes/no question (I think), can I just resolder the wires onto my jack and be all set? There's nothing special about the "EMG jacK". It's just a simple stereo jack. So, if your original jack is stereo... To my understanding, stereo jacks have three lugs and mono jacks have two. Someone might wanna confirm that though.
Drak
The additional barb on the EMG jack is to connect the battery when you plug in to play, and disconnect the battery when you unplug. Your battery wll drain rather quickly if you don't connect it via the make/break connector supplied.
Xanthus
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_p...utput_Jack.html /\ That's the closest thing to what I have (I bought the same thing from Carvin in black). It says that I can use the mid-length terminal for battery wiring, so I should be all set. Does the battery have to be specially shielded or anything, or is the battery box just for convenience? Drak
No, nothing out of the ordinary. I do completely shield ALL my guitars' control cavities with copper tape tho, FWIW.
