Neck Question

Okies so im back at it again after the freezing christmas nights and the huge whole in my wallet. This is my first project and im being brave and making my own neck (although to be honest the main reason for this is that i couldn't find an ibanez neck to buy....)

O.k, so ive decided which fret board and fret wire to use (stewmacs) and the actual neck itself was cutout months ago. All i need now is the truss rod, which i want to get right so im going to ask for help.

which Rod should i use? What difference do the lengths make? Which is easiest to install?

i use the 18"...and if you read the bottom of that page they tell you the 18" is the one for an electric
