Pots That Click In To The Centre

PSY

Recommended Posts

I've decided, due to having a lot of free time at the moment to fix up an old Maison 5 string bass I have. It's active & has some pots that kinda click in to position at half way around. Does anyone know what this are called so I know what I'm looking for so I can buy some new ones.

Cheers,

Simon

"center (Centre in Canada!) detent" is the most commonly used term.

Make sure your replacement pots are the right value. Active EMGs tend to use 25K pots if I remember correctly-- it should be stamped right on your old pots.

Thanks GregP. Centre is 'centre' over here in England too. :D The pickups are just the stock active 5 string single coils that came with the bass. I'll check the pots tonight. It'll be nice to play it without the scratchy/crackly sound of the pots or outputjack.
