jbag Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 (edited) http://www.warmoth.com/gallery/images/strat/aleksi_lrg.jpg What kind of wood is that and how do you get that color? I want a telly that will set well with my fender blues deluxe... kinda going for a warm crunchy sound... if that makes since I will either go with a vintage lime green, a dolphin blue, or copy that one above... I also want to add a kill switch.. for killing feed back when not playing and making it beep when i flick it up and down. Edited May 16, 2007 by jbag Quote
mattharris75 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Looks like Black Limba to me. If you want an idea of the tonal qualities of the wood, Warmoth's site has a link somewhere that will give you a description of the sound of all the woods they sell. That might help give you an idea if it's what you're looking for sound-wise. Quote
fryovanni Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 I agree that looks like Black Limba. The Orange color is found in wormy pieces(the orange seems to appear in the area where the bug or work bored into the wood). That would be a unique piece. It is uncommon to see in this species(most pieces do not achive that strong of a look), but that is a very nice looking example of the figure. Peace,Rich Quote
jbag Posted May 16, 2007 Author Report Posted May 16, 2007 so theres no way I can manipulate that look? Quote
mattharris75 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 That's just a nice looking piece of black limba with clearcoat on it. Do you mean try to make wood look like that, or try to alter the appearance of wood that already looks like that? Quote
