iskim86
i'm just wondering if i can spray primer over a body that looks like cow hide. throughout the body, some areas are bare wood and some are sanding sealer. is it ok to go ahead and spray or should I try to get rid of the sanding sealer completely? I ran my fingers through the transitions and it doesn't seem completely level (sanding sealer parts are obdiouvly a wee bit higher)
Daniel Sorbera
Level it first. Wood preparation is 80% of getting a good finish. If your not spraying on a level substance your going to be hurting later on when you try to level the finish.
leeranya
+1, from past experience you'd thank yourself later.
gibsonsg26
if i were you i would seal it completely first ive done a few guitars and said oh that spot will level out and trust me its always when your over confident that it looks bad. One thing to is what type of wood are you using because the grain will make a difference.
