Niracas
I'm looking to put a Floyd Rose trem in a guitar I'm building. In terms of Strength and how well they stay in tune, how well do the Schaller Floyd Rose systems stand up compared to the OFR? I'm living in New Zealand and I've found only one store in the country who stock Floyd Rose Trems and they are the Schaller ones, and they cant order the OFR trems. If the Schaller Floyds are good enough compared to the OFR trems, should I go for one of those, or is there that much of a bad difference that I should keep hunting around for an OFR

crafty
You might look into the Ping line of FR's too. A lot of people are raving about the quality, sound, and price on 'em.

Batfink
I've used Schaller's for about 17 years and are my Floyd of choice for new builds. Jem
crafty
I dunno, I've seen them with very worn knife edges... Apparently there's a new version that has "Floyd Rose" stamped on the baseplate and has better inserts on the knife edges. They sound warmer than a genuine Floyd, like the Schaller, but cost less.
