djhollowman
Hi all, I've been here a wee while, so I'm getting used to the 'boards! One thing I would like to know: how do you create a link where your text appears, like click "here" and it's the word "here" which is the actual link? Thanks, DJ Quote Link to comment
pmarlin
Run your mouse over the icons on the toolbar and the one that says "Insert link" is the one. Quote Link to comment
djhollowman
Run your mouse over the icons on the toolbar and the one that says "Insert link" is the one. Not sure I'm explaining what I'm looking for well enough......... I don't have a toolbar icon called "Insert Link" on my browser (I'm using Firefox), can't find it in the pulldown menus either. What I want to do is be able to create a link, eg: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showforum=6 but do it like I see others doing, where instead of the exact URL underlined-bit appearing, it just says "click here" or whatever text of my choice - does that make more sense? Is it a browser option, or a local forum option, or what? I don't want to use Internet Explorer at all. Thanks, DJ Quote Link to comment
pmarlin
Yeah thats what I am talking about. Click add reply to create a post , then right above the text box there is icon that when you run your mouse over it says "insert link" click on that and it will guide you thru the stepsLike this Quote Link to comment
Jon
Ahh, I need to write a tutorial for the forum code. I remember learning code for the first time wasn't so fun, but it's relatively simple once you make sense of it. edit: Actually, I'll need a set list of questions to answer. How to put links in your post, how to put images in your post, thumbnails, certain coding etc. If anyone can make a good list of questions I'll write a detailed tutorial in 2-3 days of time.
