Daniel Sorbera
I'm not sure if you have that fingerboard in the correct position
carousel182
heh, once I get this going I hope I can fix that . One thing I'm not sure of though, is how you shape the bracing, and when you know youve taken enough off. I'm not sure what type of sound it's supposed to make when you tap it. GoodWood
Yea, Im gonna get my new dred going. Got the basic inside mold made, but I have to redo the dowls . Im doing standard Stewi mac dred design with the 49-50 degree/ forward bracing, red (adi?) top, on Hondo mahog. Martin seconds Neck/fretboard so I can maybe get the dang thing done this year. Slight rounded slope on the upper bout, so its not like everyone elses . Got a pile of sides that are seconds, for cheap, and 9 sets of them are really good, one little knot here or there, one little wormhole. Bot Eeet is always some-ting to keep me from going faster is it not?
carousel182
I have so much wood I could use for tops or sides but none for tops . Im looking on ebay for a billet thats about 7 and 3/4+x2+x20+

Ill post some pics up. its big enough for acoustic back and sides but I'm gonna use it for electrics first. I have two 12x8.5 4/4 boards. carousel182
hey guys, just wanted to update you all. Winter is here which means i should probably start this thing up again. I need to fine some place to buy cheap spruce for both bracing and tops. I have every jig necessary. Ive built too many electrics over the summer, i just wanna get this thing rolling again. I might start the neck so that I can get in the acoustic building mood . My progress as of now only includes bending the mahogany sides. I might switch to this insane curly spanish cedar I have but not until I get one acoustic done.. Updates soon hopefully! -Carousel
pariah223
Welcome back! I have been periodically checking back to see if you have started up again, nice to hear from you again. I am actually more than halfway through a new build, but have not been posting about it. I might post soon though to show some pics. Looking foward to seeing your progress
