Mr. Preston Swift Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 I'm looking for a descent DVD on building an acoustic steel-string guitar for about $40ish. Do you guys know any good ones that explain everything good? Quote
ryanb Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 Try this one: http://www.lmii.com/CartTwo/thirdproducts....obert+O%92Brien That's the Robert O'Brien video for $39.95. It's pretty good. The Frank Finocchio DVDs are much better, but also a lot more expensive ... Quote
DC Ross Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 I'm on disk 4 of the Finocchio DVDs. Check your local library, they may have a copy. I'd say they're good, not great. For example, he didn't build his own neck, and while they show him sanding for a 1/2 hr at a time (no wonder it's 9 hours long), they totally neglected to show routing the neck heel pocket, and the camera work is shoddy. Ryan -- thx for the link to O'Brien's vid, I'll have to check it out. Quote
GoodWood Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Google Smartflix, acoustic guitar, and rent a few. Cumpliano, and kinkead books also. Kinkead has a basic om plan with measurements youmay need. or find handy. Quote
Woodenspoke Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Smartflix.com rents DVDs for $10 each. Quote
