im getting my pickups swapped out by a pro, ...should i, have any other electronics upgraded while they'r "under the hood"..its an ibanez RG321..so alot of the parts, arent as good as they could be!..all opinions would be appreciated..thanxs chris

yesterday i installed my new pickups (Dimarzio Super Distortion and Super 2) on this cheap Epiphone Lp-100 (bolt on neck) and they sound great. I used 2 Push/Pull pots for a series/parallel configuration. Now i have the best of both worlds, the warm sound of a humbucker, and the bright and 'snap' of a single coil, but without the tantra (huuuuuuuuuum). I suggest u to buy these if you dont wanna mess with the "look" of yer axe:

or maybe you can try some DPDT switches fora 3-way config. (series/split/parallel)

what type of pickups do you have?

Take the opportunity to look at the vol and tone pots, and put some good quality ones in if you're getting any crackles or drop-out. Doesn't cost much and saves your sanity.

I'd reccomend you to try and do it yourself first. It's quite simple and if you mess up, you can always spend the money to get the pro to do it for you if you don't manage it.

i was gonna swap myself(did my kids squire single coil), but thought better after i had a look inside(humbuckers )...im putting a p90 in the neck..and a dimebucker in the bridge..should sound original...thanxs for the input.....chris
