jimmyb Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 ok ive got the cad and im only bulding the body and im going to buy the neck. is this cad accurate. like if i print it out and get it to A0 size then will it be real size? and can i use this cad for the humbucker templates and things like that? thanks in advance Quote
want2design Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Yes, you could. What I do is take the CAD drawing, and open it in Abode Illustrator. From there, I export the drawing to a Photoshop (PSD) file. I open the PSD file in Photoshop, and then crop the picture to the exact pixels on the outside (so there is no blank space around the object). I then resize the X/Y proportions of the drawing to the exact measurements of the body. If the CAD drawing is anywhere near accurate, you should now have an exact 1:1 copy of the guitar body. This is how I am doing it, but of course, everyone probably has different methods. Quote
MikeB Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 want2design's idea sounds good. i usually pring from cad and do it by eye and measure all the time with my rule mike Quote
Hotrock Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 I just print out 1:1 scale on AutoCAD using my brand new A0 plotter. Big smug grin. Quote
