IWishICouldShred Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Hi guys this is my first thread. Anyway, I've been working on a mid 70's Japanese guitar(thats what he told me), modeled after an SG, by a company called Global. If any of my information is wrong please feel free to let me know because the guitar wasn't marked at all other than the logo. Anyway, I opened it up and checked out the electronics. I've noticed there's a wire which is attatched to the bridge. There's also one on my Strat. The thing is, on the SG it snapped and I haven't fixed it yet. My question is is the wire matters, what it does, and if it really is a "ground wire," does that impy that I'm gonna get zapped if it isn't there? (I haven't played the guitar yet because I have to fix the Bigsby unit and put a nut on it) Thanks! Quote
westhemann Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 ground the wire to the bridge.passive electronics WILL shock you in high humidity if it is not grounded Quote
IWishICouldShred Posted November 29, 2003 Author Report Posted November 29, 2003 Dude! thanks! My friend cut the wire on his Duo-Sonic that we were working on, too... thats pretty funny though, cause he told me all it did was cut feedback. Quote
