Ryanesque
I want to do a "blonde" finish on my project guitar (funny I named it that...) and I bought almond rustoleum and natural minwax stain, thinking that they are both oil based and that i could maybe tint the minwax with the almond color...that way it stays somewhat translucent... is that really possible? or am I out of my mind? I got the paint at Home Depot...I didn't have any clue where else I could even go to find "tinting" colors.. Ry
dpm99
You can get tinting colors at Rockler. There's one in Lenexa, which is near you. There's also the internet. Ckeck this site's supplies page.
ihocky2
ReRanch will also sell you spray cans of Blonde. No mixing, and comes out pretty close to the original Fender color. Woodcraft also sells opaque pigments and transparent dyes that you can play with as well as StewMac.
