christhegreat
Hi. I have an Ibanez RG 570 neck which I really like the feel, but the Lo-TRS trem I had is really messed up. I know they neck and trem are both supposed to have a 16" radius, and I'd like to know if it would be possible to use a better replacement bridge into this guitar. I was thinking about a Floyd Rose Pro but I wonder if the radius mismatch will affect the action in any way. I'd like your suggestions and insight. Would it be possible to fit another kind of trem, like a Wilkinson without major changes? Thanks Edited November 6, 2008 by christhegreat
ae3
Well the action would not be the best. That is if the Floyed and the TRS have the same post spacing, if not it wouldn't even fit, but I'm sure you have already looked at this There are other options, like an ibanez trem, one of the better ones preferably. Try http://www.ibanezrules.com/parts.htm for an Ibanez trem.
Brian
I know they neck and trem are both supposed to have a 16" radius, RG 570's have a 430mm radius which works out to almost 17" (16.9291338583" to be exact). As long as the base plate of the trem your looking at is flat and not stepped up for the middle saddles your ok, otherwise I would look for something else that can handle the flatter finger board.
