Noobanez
I'd like to build something with a quilted top and dye it... I found some Ash Burl (http://www.veneersupplies.com/product_info.php?products_id=5723) very inexpensive and have a unique look, wondering if anyone has used Ash for a top sheet before? Thanks,

Thanks, Fender uses ash veneer on their guitars all the time. That is what they charge extra for when you get a transparent finish. They use it to cover up 4 and 5 piece bodies. ihocky2
For a top wood, you can use anything you want. Especially when you are using veneer, they are so thin and don't have any effect other than visual.
