jbkim
I've got an old (84 or 85?) Kramer Pacer which I believe is poplar bodied. The lag screw on the 6th string side for the OFR buckled under the tension of the strings and has moved. I drilled it, doweled it and put those posts and bushings from stewmac in it. This has worked for the last 12 years or so but the wood has finally collapsed... it busted through into the bridge pickup cavity. I "retired" that guitar earlier this year . I figured repairing it would entail something similar to the trem to hardtail conversion tutorial. I was thinking, instead of repairing it and re-routering it for a floyd, I might go with a kahler. Any thoughts on this? For the blocks of wood, I was thinking something besides poplar like maple or alder. Does anyone want to sell/send me some scrap blocks of seasoned wood for this purpose?
