Quick Compatibility Question

Will this stain go under clear coats like nitro and poly? Its oil based, cleans up with white spirit.

Am I right in thinking that a water based stain might run if you then applied titebond to it, or if you then sprayed a water based top coat over it?

I dont know about the stain, depends.

But... Why would you apply glue to something AFTER its stained?

Just something waterbased over a waterbased stain,

You might stain something then glue it for a pin stripe affect...

I am not sure what you are talking about with the glue and striping so I will just answer the basic question.

First those are furniture Dyes not usually used for guitar work. Mostly because they are not bright enought nor do they come in guitar colors. Very few guitars look like a piece of stained furniture.. That being the case anything can be used with another incompatible product by adding a compatible layer between them. In most cases this is shellac.
