Gilmourisgod
I have some ideas for a bass guitar project with through-neck design, something Alembic inspired, but don't have the skills yet to carve a neck. After a bit of online scrounging (and trying all the links in the Supplies section), the only source of through body neck blanks with fingerboard and frets complete, carved neck back, etc. I can find is through Carvin: http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/NT4 ideally, Id' like an ebony fingerboard, but the rosewood one they offer actually looks pretty good. I thought it might be possible to dress up the fingerboard with some fancier oval or block inlay markers. Suggestions? Cautionary Tales? Prostheta
Get a proper square rule and a good angle gauge. Take your time and measure everything several times, rechecking your maths and understanding what needs to be what and why. Neck-throughs have to be right first time. Gilmourisgod
Thanks Tim! I wonder if hr could dress and level the frets for me too. The CNC video is cool, didn't realize the machine beds had gotten so small.
