renablistic Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I spent an hour or two taking the fretboard off of my ibanez bass neck. Theres a problem, though. The truss rod has a strip of wood glue on top of it, which was betwen the rod and fretboard. How the heck do i get the wood out without damaging the rod? Quote
krazyderek Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 dremel using the router base? don't try and rout all the way down to the rod, try and go as safe and close as possible to the sides of the channel and take almost all the glue (depth), then finish it off with a chisel or paint scraper is what i would do, actually i would probably try cracking the glue first... wood glue is pretty easy to crack when it's used as a gap filler.... at least when compared to certain types of epoxy Quote
