Visen
Hola Amigos! I introduce myself in this forum with this publication. My name is Vicent, I am 36 years old and I live in Madrid (Spain). I am a man who is passionate about all kinds of hobbies where there is "hard" labour. In 2021 I'm going to make a whole guitar. I chose one that I considered easy to make, a Telecaster type. I started in August 2021 and finished it in February 2022. Here's a link to a post on a well known forum and a couple of pictures. In March 2022 I started my second guitar, this time it was a bit more complex and different in terms of aesthetics and sound approach, a Duvell Elite 7 type, baritone 27". This guitar pushed me a bit to the limit, but I managed to tame my patience and finished it in September 2022. Since I finished what was my second construction in September 2022, which I am in love with and enjoy every day (I can't even believe it myself, I wish I could play every day...) I haven't had the need to make or buy another guitar since with the ones I have I am well served and I cover enough my needs in terms of tone and tuning. One day I saw a page of a wood commercial, I saw an exotic ebony top that I couldn't avoid buying, so I decided to make myself another Duvell 6-string guitar in 25.5 scale, but I didn't want to complicate the construction so I decided that it would be "simple" in terms of construction and the finish would be natural wood without stains. While I was getting ideas about the finish (Tru-oil or water based poly varnish) I ended up falling in love with its big sister, the Regius Gothic. A guitar that although its design is not one of my favourite ones, but the shape of the headstock and the black satin finish with the pearl purfling hypnotized me, so why shouldn't I be able to make two guitars at the same time and make it twice as complicated?I would like to point out that I don't have a workshop with specialised tools, so my photos and documents are not as nice and professional as the ones you see in this great forum...(Guys, I often use an English translator, so if you don't understand something I write, please let me know).Materials and features-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Type Duvel Elite Ebony Top2-piece AAAAAAA Alder bodyExotic Ebony top (I doubt which side to put)5 piece Wenge/Purple Heart laminated neck (bolt-on)Fingerboard Ebony Gabon master 24 Fret, scale 25.5, radius 16".Exotic Ebony veneer on headstockINOX Extra Jumbo frets (Crown 1.45 high x 2.9 wide)nut: TusqXLBrass Hipsot style bridge with Steel saddlesGuyker version 2 locking machine headsPickups: Tonerider Octane in bridge, for neck still to be decided.3-way selector switchbladePot Volument onlyTru.Oil Gloss finish on top and headstock, satin finish on back.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------For the Regius type it will be as follows;Body Alder 2 piece 5ATop Hard ash9-piece laminated neck Maple, ebony, purple heart (bolt-on)Fingerboard Ebony, 24 frets, 27" and 16" radiusExtra Jumbo frets (Crown 1.45 x 2.9)Gabon Master Ebony veneer for headstockPurfling GreyPearl for 4 mm headstockPurfling GreyPearl for the 4mm bodyPurfling GreyPearl for the 2 mm fingerboardBinding ABS black.Nut: TusqXlBridge: To be decidedTuning machines: To be decidedPickups: To be decidedElectronics: To be decidedSatin black finish with no pore filler.I like to start with the neck, as I find it the most complex part and the one that takes me the longest to finish. For the mast of the Duvell type I buy a flat cut Wengue blank so that when I cut it in 3 you can get as close to a Qsawn cut as possible. The same for the Regius type, Canadian hard maple blank Once glued, I left them for 2 weeks each In the meantime, I'm slotting with my homemade super miter box for the Ebony fingerboard for the Regius, which will be a 27" 24 fret scale. After two weeks or more, what I'm going to do is to cut the joint between the head and the neck to about 11 degrees. I cut it very roughly with a handsaw and then use the jig I have to use with the router machine, this way I get 11 degrees and a perfect joint. I take advantage of the opportunity to thicken the veneers that I'm going to put on the tuning heads. On the duvell Exotic Ebony, on the Regius Gabon Ebony. See you!

Bizman62
Welcome to the forum! Your builds show excellent workmanship, also I noticed that you seem to use your tools for all imaginable purposes. Spreading the clamping pressure evenly on the sides of the necks with the same square tubes that you use as rails with your router is just one example.
