commidaddy
I have a body that a friend of mine cut out of oak and painted white. It is a neat looking body, very original, but I was curious as to what kind of sound I would get out of oak and about benefits/drawbacks to using oak. I guess I really want to know is it worth using to build a guitar?
nothingbutbone
I am wondering about that too. I have some Red Oak I would like to try using on my first guitar.
Fraser Welsh
Brian May's Red Special was partially Oak in construction if I remeber correctly...and that could produce a half decent sound on occasion...
JohnJohn
I've made a couple of bodies out of oak,not bad.Not to high not to low, decent mids. Can be a bit of a pain to finish-very porous.Wasn't as heavy as I thought.
