nsherman2006
Hi. I want to finish my rg550 with a matted/stain stain. First off, is there any difference between matte and satin? Second, will polycrilic protect the guitar, or should i use some other matte/satin clearcoat to finish it? If so, what would be my best option. Thanks. Devon Headen
I don't think there's any difference in satin/matte. Polycrylic does protect, that's what it's made for, but I'd use something different just because the price is so high...$12US some odd cents for a quart. I think that's about what StewMac's nitro is though.
www
I have used satin polycryllic before on the back of a neck and it worked great. I don't like the sticky feel of lacquer on the back of a neck. The polycryllic lightly sanded with 2500 grit has a very fast feel.
