BlackHawk2025 Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 anybody ever had any problems with gotoh TOM bridges? i just got one for free yesterday and i want to know if they are a good choice or not. Quote
Biohazard Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 When I was toalking to someone about what TOM to get (gotoh, schaller etc) I was told that gotoh make top class products so yeah I think they are good. They certainly ain't bad anyway. Quote
BlackHawk2025 Posted June 17, 2004 Author Report Posted June 17, 2004 sweet...... i got it free too... lol........ gave away a Fender non-trem from an old strat that died........... it only had 4 saddles and two of the springs were missing.... lol Quote
Biohazard Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 Cool, I don't know how much they normally cost. But still, free isn't bad at all lol. Quote
BlackHawk2025 Posted June 17, 2004 Author Report Posted June 17, 2004 they're like....... 30 bux..... for just the bridge....... i got a set of string ferrules with it too.... Quote
frank falbo Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 It's a great bridge. The white nylon bushings on the saddle screws keep it from ever rattling, and the nuts lock the saddle screw in place. Quote
johnsilver Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 I just received a TonePros System II TOM bridge I ordered. Paid too dang much, but it is supposed to be "top of the line" with mods they put in it to lock it and the tail piece down for more stability and sustain. ESP for one is putting it on their top of the line guitars selling above $3500. When I received it, it was a Gotoh bridge (inscribed right there on the bottom of the bridge) that I guess had been modified by the TonePros folks. I hope it's good - looks great. Quote
guitman32 Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 Im using a Gotoh TOM bridge and stoppiece on my V, and they seem top quality. The Gotoh TOM's from Warmoth are dirt cheap...go to their site, and to the online store here. That is where i bought mine. Warmoth Bridge page Quote

Tone Pros are made by shaller and marketed through WD. Where'd it come from? Quote
johnsilver Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I ordered the TonePros TOMs from StewMac's latest catalog. I ordered 3. One is stamped Gotoh Japan, and the other two are stamped TonePros, by Gotoh. I ordered matching tailpieces, and they are stamped the same as the bridges. Whad'ya think? Should I be worried? Quote
Black Mariah Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Gotohs are good. They're what Jackson uses on all of their ToM guitars, and if they sucked Jackson wouldn't be using them. Quote

What it sound like is one of 2 things: 1. I am mistken 2. Gotoh is making liscenced Tone Pros for Stewmac. This is likely, because my WD tonepros is different than the stewmac ones. Gotoh makes quality stuff. I wouldnt worry. Quote
