silvertonessuckbutigotone
shreddy, your idea would feel a lot worse playing than mine. No offence well since its a concept guitar, it wouldnt really matter "how it would feel" although it does count, most people playing guitars like these dont usually practice on them, and the only time most people play sitting down (unless they are into acoustic and soft stuff) is when they are practicing, and a spiderman guitar usually doesnt go with acoustic/soft rock, so when your playing it you are most likely going to be standing up, which is when comfort isnt AS big of an issue as sitting down. monkey69962000
ok. I printed the design full size and the guitar body feels good. I cut the shape from the paper to the poster baord and tried it. Its very comfortable Oh and Shreddy, if you can get me gibson LP guitar neck, i can give you a neck for your Batman guitar. Its a 3 by 3 that is made so you can customize and cut your own neck.
ShreddyKrueger
I already have the neck, I got it from a friend who is getting a new one, so he just gave it to me.

darren wilson
Just thought i'd throw this in for consideration: Gibson also did a "Batman" SG a few years back when the first Tim Burton movie came out. Can't find any pics of it, though.

GregP
At the beginning of this thread, I was prepared to think, "Er, that's crappy, dude." But by the time you were up to your more recent revisions, you had fired up my imagination, Shreddy. I think you've got a potential winner on your hands. Your most recent headstock is king, and the body is ALMOST there. I like the general shape of the bottom, but I think it could be more "V"-like by having the outsides a bit longer, keeping the middle where it is, and adjusting the other pointy bits to fall into place. Gotta say, though, monkey-- I'm not feeling the spidey tribute just yet. Greg
monkey69962000
i need suggesstions!!!! i havent gotten any that keep the sorta same design that i like. The branching legs i think isnt the best way. I like my new one. The Spidy Project this time both sides are shaved, and i still need to work in the inlay work and the head stock
monkey69962000
did my research. That guitar you were talking about is either a maison or the one in the picture is ta custom luthier guitar.
ShreddyKrueger
but I think it could be more "V"-like by having the outsides a bit longer Greg, I agree with you the outsides do need to be longer, cause i printed it out and cut it out and said,"this thing is hella small" so it's time for some revisions. ShreddyKrueger
Well, I have to re draw my plans. The body i drew is WAY out of proportion because i took the plans from a 24 fret neck-thru Flying V. so, What I need is a bolt on Flying V CAD drawing so that i can make sure that every thing is in proportion. monkey69962000
Any suggestion for me again
ShreddyKrueger
I think you should make the all the legs, or just the upper ones shorter, for easier access to the higher frets
ShreddyKrueger
ok, i took the image of the V body and put it into Turbo CAD, then i copied the lines from the V CAD drawing over the photo, and re-adjusted it so it is the right size, and then i resized the CAD body so the neck pocket was 3" by 2 3/16". So i'm pretty sure i have it right now. The I checked the dimensions of the body and it said it was 17 1/2" by 23". Is this right. Any one own a V and could confirm this size? monkey69962000
all you had to do was select the parts at once then enlarge it. Or was it more than just that. and i left room on this design for upper regester access. Its easy and has enough room for your hand to slide in. Any more advancements
ShreddyKrueger
it was more, I had the neck pocket about 1/2 the length it is supposed to be, and I wanted to make sure that the scale length would be right (25 1/2") because of the bridge postion of the 24 fret. I don't really know the mechanics of all that, so this would be a good time to learn
monkey69962000
oh well i redid mine today and just extended it. Mines a bolt on too but i am doing that last. I messed up by putthing the body overlapping the body when its the other way around
ShreddyKrueger
How does this look to everyone? More "V" Like I think
