  1. Theres Calbourne Mill and Yafford Mill. Yafford closed down a couple a years ago and the donkey place is gone aswell, mind you that went when i was about 5.
  2. It's all be moved gradually to 'Robin Hill' though apparently. Havn't been there for years myself, seem to remember goin there as a little kid and there being just some little monkeys and those prarie dog things in a field.
  3. Its part of the island tradition to go there at least once a year. What a work of genius Blackgang Chine is
  4. It says somewhere on the link page that this is the one pedal Jimi used throughout his career (or somthing like that), but if you read anything to do with Roger Mayer (the bloke who made them for Hendrix) he says that Hendrix had millions of them all slighttly different. You can often see another one on the top of an amp at gigs, and more wha pedals aswell. Wish I had a few spare grand though!
  5. ...nothing to do but 'sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll'... Hang on what am I saying Excellent!!!
  6. Since I've been coming on this site I've become aware that there is a vast amount of people from the Isle Of Wight here. Is it because there's nothing else to do but sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll on the Island? Or is there some other reason for this that I'm missing?
  7. If you cant open a link, just add it to your 'favorites' and then open it from there, works fine then!
  8. Check out this auction of a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face pedal that actually belond to Hendrix. Cool photo of the inside, aswell! If it won't open normally, add it to your 'favorites' and open it from there. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...&category=33009 Got my own reissue Arbiter Fuzz Face in grey. It's the loudest, bassyest and strongest distortion pedal i've ever come across, I love it. It's power and diversity is excellent. You can use it as a mild crunch sort of distortion with the volume full up and the fuzz down, or fuzz up and volume down for a really bassy warm sound. or you can turn them both up full and with a 100 watt amp+ on 4 or 5 it feels like there's an earthquake. anyone else got one?
  9. Does anybody know of any good active live guitar chat rooms around I can't find any?
  10. There seems to be a hell of a lot of people from the Isle of Wight on this site!
  11. Hendrix was really in a bad way when he played the Isle of Wight he actuually died somthing like 16 days afterwards (thats what the Island does to you! ) If you want a good version of Hey Joe check out the Hendrix Experience BBC Sessions or The Live at the Winterland, excellent, and both when he was at his peak.
  12. We just got color television last month and an indoor toilet is a luxuary
  13. Why not chord of the month or chord sequence?
  14. Don't recognise the name, how old is he and what band/s is/was he in?
  15. I'm not sure it's not really tiny, its not like Craggy Island on Father Ted or nothing, it's probably about 25 miles I'm not 100 percent sure.
  16. Exactly what bit are you stuck on? Cant realy work out what bit it is your tryin to work out. The songs in c#m tuned town a semi tone to cm, so i think you maye have the key wrong to start with. I've not got the time to tab out the whole thing, ive looked at a few sites and there all pritty bad or incomplete, to copy and paste to here. Ive been touring round the country in a Jimi Hendrix tribute band for the last couple of years, so if you explain a bit further ill help you out. p.s I don't come on to often, so sorry if I don't get back to you immediately.
  17. Yeah Isle Of Wight, why are you from there? ps. I dont get the time to come on often so sorry if im slow in response
  18. Cheers for the reply, Ill keep the language clean I promise.
  19. What your saying is completly right, I think you missed the point of what I was saying. As I said above I think everyone should listen to the music and appreciate each artists dedication. Maybe I'm picking up the pace a bit to fast, I'm trying to talk about the hole thing in a bit more detail and thought than has been viewed by some people.
  20. Hi i'm new today. I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me in time. I'm presently getting together a home studio and recording, recording, recording. Ive just finished my second tour with a Jimi Hendrix tribute band. the site looks good I'm gradually discovering new things. I hope to have some good debates and learn lots. Ben
  21. And ways of thinking about sound and music, not necesarily style, thats partly what I'm talking about not getting pigeon holed to styles. Yeah I agree if you enjoy listening and working in a certain way good, but dont be afraid of experimentation.
